FISHING - LURES & COLORS

In low light, the fluorescent colors can be successful…

Eyes of the fish as those of man that are sensitive to the level of light that penetrates them, so when this decreases the view of colors decreases. If it is clear that the light penetrates into deep less and less, and for this reason many bottom fish have a vision in black and white, it is rather less intuitive to understand that in the water inshore light penetrated less than offshore, due to the suspended material from the bottom.
In low light, the fluorescent colors can be successful because they greatly increase the contrast of the lures in the environment in which they swim. In general, the inshore fish can see better the colors compared with pelagics, that living in an environment dominated by blue and green, they have adapted to this medium, in which the contrast between the colors of the bait and the surrounding environment often make the difference.
